Music Man Reminiscence

Remember when I posted about being in The Music Man? Well, I have some footage for you lovely readers! I truly miss doing that play, and I met so many incredibly people. Here is a video of the library scene that I was in (my favorite scene of them all!)...

I absolutely loved doing the dance for this scene, especially the soft shoe (apparently that's a major thing to know how to do when learning to Irish step dance)!

Theatre Blues

I must say, the past three and a half months have been another wonderful experience for me. The Music Man was such a fun show to be in and I truly miss each and every thing about it. However, the four show nights went G-R-E-A-T (minus feeling sick for Saturday matinee and Saturday night). With that being said, it is time to take you guys on a tour of this past week....er....a tour with photos that is.

After the last performance which was on Sunday, we went out to Don Juan's and had a blast together!

Also, when our dressing rooms were assigned, I unexpectedly was placed with girls from about age 5 to age 12! I seriously almost started crying when I was assigned to that one. However, I prayed and prayed and PRAYED that I would be able to be moved to a different dressing room. So the next day my mom called a board member (this board member is *ahem* really negative and reminds me of Angela from The Office) and what do ya know, she let me move! Woot! I thanked God over and over. Oh goodness.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the photos and this was probably the best play I have ever been in. =)



You are NOT forgotten!

Hi bloggy friends! I just wanted to let you all know that I have not left you in the dark. I haven't been posting because I have been bogged down these past two weeks with long rehearsals (for music man), tech week, and have been going to bed pretty late. Tonight we had opening night and everything went GREAT. The whole show was amazing and everyone did a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful job! The last show will be Sunday (matinee) and then I should be back to posting regularly.

Ooh La La

I am just loving these crisp, cool Autumn days! The warm sunshine, the crunch of the colored leaves when you step on them, Mmmmm. School is going well, we seem to be progressing every day as we practice for The Music Man. Oh yes.

This is probably downright the most fun play I have ever done. I have gotten chosen for two more parts as well! I went from being just a townsperson to being an Indian and a library dancer. Woot! I haven't told you guys, but I was dying to be a dancer in the library scene. Dying. That was one of the scenes I had my heart set on to be in. So I prayed and asked begged God to have them choose me for that scene, and what do ya know, they did! Well if that isn't an answered prayer?!

I also prayed and asked begged God to let me have another part; another part as in, a part with not just everyone but with just a few people so that I could *ahem* stand out...er...kind of anyway. And what do ya know, they picked a few other girls and me as an indian! WOOT!

We started out with a cast of about 110 people and we have dropped to about 70 (which is great because that gives you the chance for an extra part).

Life is good.

Once Upon a Time...

There was a ten year old girl who had a spectacular dream. It was big. It was huge. It was positively perfect. Her dream was to become an actress and live in Los Angeles, California and meet lots of famous people. This girl would walk down the red carpet in a sparkly evening gown and stilettos and pose left and right for the bright, flashing lights of the paparazzi. She would adore having her picture taken from them. She knew it. This would be such a lovey life. This girl would walk down the glorious streets of Los Angeles and people would rush towards her pleading for just one autograph. This was her dream.

 

However, there was just one teensy tiny problem....she wasn't an actress....yet. How could she live that magnificent dream if she wasn't an actress? How would she walk down the red carpet, meet famous people, live in California, and have people beg and plead for an autograph? There was one solution.

She would start off by doing theatre. This girl's first play was The Wizard of Oz when she was eleven years old, and was cast a munchkin. Though she just loved being on stage for four nights and being in the spot light, she decided that she would never again do theatre. She was stuck in a dreadful dressing room full of nine and ten year olds. They were entirely too obnoxious, and this girl even had a cast member regurgitate right in front of her. No, she would never ever do theatre again...until...

Two years later she decided to give it another shot. The play was Cinderella and she would just give theatre one. last. chance. This girl absolutely, wholeheartedly, adored doing this play. She even got a speaking part. After the wonderful experience, she knew that she would continue to participate in the theatre no matter how horrible the experience was.

She recently auditioned for The Music Man as well and is ecstatic about what is to come of it!

This girl still dreams of living in California, walking down red carpet, having people beg and plead for autographs, meeting lots of famous people, and even have the paparazzi snap this picture and that picture.

BUT, she's going to allow God to lead her there...one step at a time.
