come, wash over me.

The sound of waves crashing, seagulls cawing and my cousins splashing around were the only things that I heard. The waves gently enfolded me as I sat near the shallow end of the ocean. It was golden hour and the sun was just beginning to set. The lighting was rich and contrasted with everything beautifully. Bold yellow overexposed the beach. I just sat there, in the shallow part of the ocean, completely at peace. It was a mild climate and the ocean was warm from the harsh sunlight earlier that day. Regina Spektor's "Eet" was set on replay in my mind. It went along perfectly with the ambiance of my surroundings. It literally was as if I had died and awakened in Heaven for a few short minutes. I sat alone in the ocean, letting the water wash over me, watching everything contrast with the vivid golden color, hearing the waves crashing, my cousins laughing, "Eet" only in my mind and seagulls in the background. It is not often that I have moments of complete peace. There, I experienced it -- a true gift from God. It was one of those moments that was so perfect and so beautiful that I sometimes allow it to replay in my mind, striving to feel that sense of peace once again.

...it reminded me of when I was on my mission trip last summer and we stopped to look at the ocean. it was so perfect, quiet, and serene it felt like a true gift from God. I reply it in mind mind all the time. I just love the ocean so much, I'm thankful God gave us it:)
