{Very First} Outfit Post

Anna Gray? Doing a fashion post? Like, actually posting her outfit? And not wearing jeans and a hoodie? No, surely not...

YES!

I must say, Olivia, Carlotta and Abigail have all been wonderful inspirations to me and are pretty much the reason I have tried something new with my wardrobe. Therefore, I present to you lovely friends, moi outfit!

cami: belk//shirt: old navy//skirt: wal mart//shoes: shoe department//earrings: claire's

I wore that to do end  of year testing with our home-school group this morning. I knew that when I showed my mom the outfit she would either love it, hate it, or think that it was weird. Her first words? "Oh my..." but then she warmed up to it and said that she liked it. Score!

And - yes. I am officially addicted in love with Polyvore

Think of fashion like baking. In nearly every recipe, the basic staples of eggs, flour, butter, and sugar are combined together to form a basic dough. Then comes the additional flavoring – maybe a little vanilla, some chocolate, or fruit. -Carlotta

Newly Found Inspiration

I actually have to give most of the credit for admiring this lovely, young actress, to Polka Dot; who recently did a post on this star.

Hailee Steinfeld is a new inspiration of mine. She's cute, she's fourteen, she's modest, she's mature, and she won an Oscar award for being the best supporting actress in the movie, True Grit.

After reading Polka Dot's post on her, I decided to simply look her up. After finding a few photos of her, I wanted to find out how she got her start in the acting industry, how she got her role in True Grit and basic information about she, herself.
And wow - I truly do admire her after seeing her on David Letterman and finding out a bit more about her. From what Hailee has explained about how she got her start, it just shows that with quite a bit of studying, practice and hard work, that you can, in fact, pursue your dreams.

This girl went from taking a few acting classes, studying, and being an extra on film sets....

...to becoming an Oscar award winning star!

I am the type of girl that wants to be like her. I want to have the grand privilege of walking down red carpet, I want to be in movies, I want to sip coffee with Hailee Steinfeld, I aspire to be a famous actress.

I know that famous people are overrated most of the time, and I know you are probably thinking, "Wow, you will never be famous. Good luck with that..." I even put myself down with that kind of thinking...

...But then I put myself in people like Hailee's shoes. I wonder how she got where she got. Everybody has to start somewhere, right? So what if you don't get a lead part in a play, so what if people blow you off when you explain your aspirations of being famous, so what if people tell you you'll never make it.

Celebrities, like Miss Hailee for example, I am sure had told people their aspirations of being famous...and people most likely blew them off and told them they couldn't do it.

I know this was the case with many stars, Lady Gaga being one of them. But look where they are. It takes hard, dedicated, aspiring work to get to where these people are.

Starting this Summer, I am going to try and build up a resume. I have talked to my mom, and I want to start by being an extra in a TV show and/or movie. We will see where God leads me from there. I know, for a fact though, that He is leading me into the acting industry; and I truly think that he used Polka Dot and Hailee Steinfeld to persuade me even more into doing this. Whether I will end up being famous or not...well, we will see about that.

If I do end up in the acting industry though, I desire to give God full credit for where I would be.

I desire for Him to lead me through this...step by step.

Black Friday Fashion

Well, today is that time of year. That time of year as in, "The day that every person and their brother head to tons of stores to find great deals." And I am proud to say, I was one of those people. I have NEVER gone shopping on Black Friday, but this year I did. My family and I traveled to South Carolina (my grandparents house) Wednesday for Thanksgiving and my aunt, uncle, and cousins came along as well. So after lunch today, Kristle (aunt), Rachael (cousin), MaMa (grandmother), Mom, and I headed over to what is practically a ghost mall and hunted down some pretty chic things!

First, we went to Old Navy and they had a MAJOR sale. $8 long sleeved shirts, $10 jeans, $2 gloves, $3 socks, does it seriously get ANY BETTER than that?! Nope. =)

Our second stop was Belk and I have NEVER seen so many people in that Belk...in that mall. I mean, there were like twenty something people piled up at the checkout counters. I was wanting to purchase this super adorable pair of gray flat boots and I started to fret when I saw how many people were there! Luckily though, I found the boots, tried them on, and bought them (got them on sale for $19.99...originally like $44.00!)

The last store we went to was Claire's. Good 'ole Claire's. Such girly fashions, cute earrings, rip off prices, oh yes! The only thing that I purchased there was a sequiny hat and I am in LOVE with it!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and don't even begin to ask me why I posted about shopping!
